Friday Links & Loves

1. As someone who has to say “Moira, M-O-I-R-A” at least once a day. This list made me laugh!

2. I’m an avid traveller. So this blog has kicked my wanderlust back up!

3. I don’t know if you all are Spice Girls fans, I was for sure! But did you know there’s a documentary on them on Hulu? I sure didn’t! I haven’t watched the whole thing yet, since I fell asleep before I could.

4. I’m loving this scalloped skirt! I love anything with a scalloped hem!

5. Have you seen those tassel garlands that have been all over Pinterest for like a year? Well, I’ve always wanted one, and I’m thinking of getting this one! What do you think?

6. So I love Duchess Catherine, I think she is so chic and well put together. And Prince George is just so cute! Love these photos from their tour in New Zealand so far!

Have a fantastic weekend! I’m off to Eugene for my sorority’s Alumni Weekend!

Gluten Free Bread

I recently started reading The Londoner, which is a blog written by a woman, Rosie, who lives in, you guessed it, London!

For anyone who knows me, you know that I am minorly (or majorly) obsessed with anything and anything British. Her blog posts are filled with wonderful sites and fantastic looking eats!

She recently posted a recipe for gluten-free, low carb bread. And I love bread, so I figured I’d give it a try, as it seemed pretty easy.

I made my long-time friend (seriously, 11 1/2 years…) and soon to be room mate, Kristen help me. As I’m a terrible baker, and she’s fantastic.

For this recipe, you need:

4 eggs

1 cup of flax meal ( I used ground flax seed)

3 tbsp water

1/2 cup ground almonds (I got slivered almonds and ground them in the coffee grinder)

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 loaf tin

Preheat oven to 400F

Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the water

Beat the eggs

In a separate bowl, combine flax, almonds, baking powder and salt. Toss it all together.

Pour into the tin and Bake for 20-25 minutes (I recommend 25 minutes!)

It got a bit stuck….

We made a lovely bruschetta with it! And ate this and Parmesan Chicken!

This is definitely not a typical bread texture, Kristen remarked that it was along the lines of corn bread, but it was good! I’ll definitely be giving it another try!

OMG. I’m posting an outfit.

This is something that you’ll see me wearing pretty often.

I wear this outfit combo: sweater and jeans to work pretty often (casual office) with some flats.

This scarf is one of my favorites, I got it in Spain at a boutique when I studied abroad in France.

What I’m wearing:

Gap Sweater | American Eagle Jeans | North Face Vest | Converse Sneakers | Kate Spade Watch | Bauble Bar Necklace

Friday Links & Loves

I’m going to start a new regular post on Fridays of all the links I liked this week.

1. This video that is one of the greatest things I’ve seen in a while. I love the Spice Girls (what 90s girl doesn’t?) and Paris (I studied in France last year). And what I want to know is, how the heck they walk in those shoes, because Lord knows I can’t.

2. Have you seen this video?? Emojis plus Beyonce and Jay-Z. SO great!

3. This article is really old, but I really enjoy it. I love J.Crew, and I think Jenna Lyons is so fabulous.

4. Did you watch the How I Met Your Mother finale? I LOVED it. I sobbed through the entire second half of the show. I watched the show for about 6 years, I watched the first 3 seasons on DVDs. I am so sad that it’s over now!

5. The Mindy Project! OMG!!

6. Veronica Mars. I know, I’m late on this. I actually saw the movie the day it came out. I watched the show on Netflix (why did they take it off??) I cannot wait for the movie to come out on DVD and for the book!

Rain Gear

Living in Portland, it rains A LOT. Like, a lot.

We are getting into the rainy season here.

And one things that Portlanders like to joke about is that the we can always tell tourists, because those are the people using umbrellas.

So, here are some great choices for rain jackets.

I also like this Vineyard Vines one as well.

What are your favorite rainy-day accessories?

I’ve recently been getting into Podcasts.

I listen to them during my commutes to and from work.

Most of the ones I listen to are about 30 minutes long, which is the length of my commute.

The first one I started listening to is The Lively Show. I first started listening to it when one of my favorite bloggers, Liz of Sequins & Stripes was on it. It’s a podcast put on by Jess Lively, and it’s really inspiring. I listen to it on Fridays on my way to work. They’re posted every Thursday.

My favorite however, is Things You Missed In History Class. I am a HUGE nerd when it comes to History. Like Crazy. And European History is my favorite. I even took AP European History in High School. I’ve listened to episodes on the Hessians, Victoria & Albert and other subjects. I HIGHLY recommend it!

What are some of your favorite podcasts?
